AFTA has secured a group discounted room rate of $195 at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati for people attending AFTACON. The cut-off date to book your room is May 14, 2025. After this date we cannot guarantee that the discounted rate will be available, and the guest room rate will be based on availability. For 2025 AFTACON we have instituted a firm registration deadline ahead of the event. All attendees must be pre-registered for this year’s event by May 30, 2025, at which point registration will close.

The Early Bird Rate ends on January 31, 2025. The Standard Rate will apply starting on February 1, 2025. The Member Rate is available for members throughout the registration period. 

Your registration fee covers all programming of the 2025 AFTACON, beginning with the opening plenary in the morning of Thursday June 12, 2025, and continuing through the end of the last session at approximately 2:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The registration fee is all-inclusive, including the AFTACON welcome reception in the evening on Wednesday June 11, 2025. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  

For the 2025 AFTACON, we are not offering one-day or student registration options. That said, we are offering registration support that you may wish to review. Please see registration support section below on this page.  

We offer group registrations for organizations or universities seeking to register four or more attendees for the AFTACON at $699 per person. To register as a group: 

  1. Email us your request for group registration of four or more registrants to convention@artsusa.org including their full names, email addresses and organization name.  
  2. AFTA will send an invoice for the group to the submitter. 
  3. Pay the invoice online with a credit card or mail a check to Americans for the Arts, ATTN: AFTACON, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20005. 
  4. AFTA will email everyone in the group further instructions on how to register with a registration code. 

While we can process payment via purchase order, you cannot complete such payment online.  

  1. Contact us at convention@artsusa.org with the number of people, their names, email addresses, and member status.  
  2. AFTA will generate an invoice for you and send an outline our policies relating to purchase orders. 
  3. Pay the invoice online with a credit card or mail a check to Americans for the Arts, ATTN: AFTACON, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20005. 
  4. AFTA will email further instructions on how to register with a registration code. 

Please note: If you are using a government-issued purchase order to pay your registration fee, and if it has not been paid at the time of arrival on-site, a credit card payment will be required to cover the registration fees before registration materials are released to you. Once the purchase order is paid, a refund will be immediately processed for the credit card payment. 

All attendees who provide an email address will receive confirmation of registration via email. Confirmation notices will include a receipt as well as other important information about the AFTACON 2025. Please review confirmation notices carefully. If you have not received a confirmation notice within three weeks of submitting your registration, or if you wish to change your registration information, please contact us by email at convention@artsusa.org. 

All requests for refunds must be made in writing or via email by the registrant to Americans for the Arts c/o AFTACON by the cancellation deadline of May 20, 2025. Please see below for the schedule of available refunds for the AFTACON registration:

Yes, substitutions will be accepted for regular convention tickets, not for Pre-CON registrations. Requests should be made in writing via email to the AFTACON team at convention@artsusa.org. Substitutions can be made up until AFTACON day one on June 12, 2025. 

You or your organization can become a member of Americans for the Arts by joining online or emailing membership@artsusa.org To ensure access to the Member Rate, please become a member before registering for the conference. Once your membership is active, you can register here and take advantage of the discount. If you are unsure of your membership status, please email membership@artsusa.org. If you believe you have an active membership, but the Member Rate does not appear for you during registration checkout, please contact membership@artsusa.org.  

ARTventures

No ARTventures are included in the cost of your registration. 

Two. You may register for and attend one ARTventure on Thursday, June 12th and one on Friday, June 13th.

You are welcome to decline the ARTventures and instead explore Cincinnati on your own. To do so, please select “Explore on My Own” during registration. Please note that your registration fee will not change if you decline to participate in one or both ARTventures. 

Attendees may be able to switch ARTventures on site if capacity permits. 

ARTventures for the 2025 AFTACON are an expanded version of what we have offered in the past. Some options are similar in style to what we have offered in previous years, while others are more entertainment-based. Read the description of each ARTventure to learn more here! 

Transportation and transportation needs vary from one ARTventure to the next. Please refer to the descriptions of the ARTventures for more information about how far each one is from the hotel and what the transportation plan is.

Belonging

To support a full creative life for all, we at Americans for the Arts commit to championing policies and practices of cultural equity that empower a just, inclusive, and equitable nation. In that spirit, we are committed to making our AFTACON 2025 as equitable and inclusive an event as possible. 

Americans for the Arts’ 2025 AFTACON will have the following accessibility components: 

  • Hyatt Regency Hotel is an ADA compliant venue, and all meeting rooms are accessible. 
  • Clear signage and directions will be onsite to ensure access to meeting spaces. 
  • Lower third captioning will appear on in-room projection screens and for digital content. 
  • ASL interpretation will be available for all plenary sessions and will be made available for all breakout sessions and ARTventures based on requests made at the time of registration. 
  • Captions will be available for all sessions. 
  • Reserved ADA compliant hotel rooms are available within the group block inventory. 
  • Reserved seating will be held at the front of session rooms for visual access. 
  • Spacing between tables and chairs will allow for ease of movement for individuals using wheelchairs and other mobility devices.  
  • A quiet room space with a zero cell phone use policy is available for breaks and calming activities.  
  • A nursing mothers’ room is available. 
  • Attendees can customize a meal in advance for dietary restrictions and labels with ingredients will be set with all food to ensure a safe and healthy meal. 
  • Microphone use by all panelists and participants is required.  

Don’t see an accessibility component that is needed or preferred? All attendees should indicate any requests on the registration form or may contact us at convention@artsusa.org. We ask that you make us aware of any requests as early as possible prior to AFTACON 2025 so that we can ensure an excellent experience for all. 

Registration Support

Americans for the Arts is continuing its work to support participation of the arts and culture field at AFTACON. Striving to be inclusive and ensure access to intentionally marginalized communities in our programs and in the field at large, Americans for the Arts will prioritize individuals that identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC); and/or Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA+); and/or person(s) with a disability/disabilities, and/or from a rural community. There are a limited number of registration support opportunities for the 2025 AFTACON in Cincinnati. Registration support for the AFTACON will cover registration and potentially offer travel stipends depending on the number of requests received. Registration support applications are open until December 1st and recipients will be notified by January 2, 2025, of their award. Early bird pricing ends January 15, 2025.

You are not required to be a member of Americans for the Arts to request or receive registration support.  

Meals

Americans for the Arts will label all provided food indicating if it is vegan, vegetarian, contains nuts, or is gluten free. We do our best to provide options for as many dietary considerations as possible. To ensure a safe event, please contact us to verify any specifics. We are happy to ensure we provide options for all during official events; advance notice is critical to ensure we can provide that experience. Dietary inquiries can be notated on the registration form under the Individual Requests section. If you would like to speak to a member of Americans for the Arts regarding your specific details, please email convention@artsusa.org. 

As part of our AFTACON program, we provide the following food and beverage offerings. Please note that these offerings are subject to change. If you have any special dietary concerns regarding the food and beverage offered, please bring this to our attention prior to your arrival in Cincinnati, Ohio. We will do our best to make all necessary arrangements with the Hyatt Regency Hotel and other catering partners.

Policies & Procedures

By registering for the 2025 AFTACON, you agree to our event Policies & Procedures and Code of Conduct. Read the full Americans for the Arts Policies & Procedures and Code of Conduct here. 

You are required to wear your name badge to all AFTACON events and meal functions and badges will be checked prior to entering the meeting space, and at all sessions and events. Admission will be denied to those without a badge. If you lose your badge, you will be denied access to all AFTACON programming until you secure a new badge at the Registration Desk. You will be required to show ID to secure a replacement badge. 

Guests will not be allowed to attend AFTACON.  

Registrants’ contact information will be collected through registration and will be used to generate a digital directory that has name, organization, and LinkedIn/website. During the registration process registrants will have the option of opting in or out of the directory. Please see the Americans for the Arts Privacy Statement on our website for more information.
